Week 3 Digital Image #edcmooc

The image is my own original painting in acrylic and transfer titled "Smoke and Mirrors" that I used as a basis for my comments on the theme of digital culture, the MOOC and being human. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Hi, Lory! Do you mean you can paint such beautiful pictures? Amazing! Is it just your hobby or are you into it professionally?

I did enjoy your creation - I guess it's for the Flickr competition? It must win the promised prise, I am sure! :-)

How did you combine all those things together? Is there some special programme? Is it hard to master and how long did it take you to collect your ideas?

If I can express my opinion, I found your image really demonstrative: I can see the good, presice summary of our two-weeks activities. I especially like your statement that digital education is now a part of our culture. True, like it or not.

One suggestion: do you think you can place the link here to the Flickr, where your image will be located? I want to vote for it there.

And of course, thank you for sharing! Wish you much inspiration for the final project ))))

  2. Hi Tatiana, Thank you! Painting is a hobby and I also take classes in drawing and painting so it is something I spend time on. But it is just for me, kind of a way to relax. The creation was done using thinglink.com You need to open an account then you can upload a main image and place little markers around the image and fill the boxes with text and links to other images. It is pretty easy but it does take a little time to play with to know what you are doing. The bad news is that I tried to upload it to Flickr but couldn´t do it. I put a message on the google group so maybe someone can explain it but maybe it isn´t possible and I will have to do something else to upload to flickr : ( But when I do get my entry submitted, I will appreciate your vote if you like it!! Thanks for the kind words!

  3. Wow, what a great artist you are. Really nice Lori. I like how you have combined the idea together. I appreciate art work, I never spend enough time on drawing or painting even though I have enjoyed music. In relation to this piece of art work I think is it representing how combined worlds, items would play a part if the "whole world"

I am sure you will be the winner of the week 3 competition.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thank you for commenting, Kulari! I am glad you enjoyed it. I have posted it on Flickr so if you want to take the time to view it there and click on favourite, it would be a "vote" in my favour. :)

    2. Hi lori. Very interested that youbhave createdva painterly visual response to the edcmooc. The layering of the marks creating space with the use of colour. And to overlay it in thinglink with the touchbuttons animates it to another level. I come from a background in art so find this accessible . I am influenced by the social network analysis tools and they produce beautiful images

    3. Thank you so much, Martell! The reason your comment did not publish immediately is because I have my comments set to be approved before posting since it is an open blog and anyone can view. I just wanted to make sure I didn´t get spam. So your comment did not disappear to the ether :D and I am very glad it did not. Really happy to get the feedback.
